Sixteen Wires is a unique string quartet in that they are able not only to provide light classical background music to set the mood for your event, but perform a very broad range of music from Beethoven, to Bartok, Blur, The Beatles and Britney Spears. From Madonna to Mozart and Franz Ferdinand to Franz Schubert!
Their classical repertoire includes a huge number of popular favourites from classical composers of all eras. From Bach’s Air on a G String and Pachelbel’s Canon to pieces by Verdi, Wagner, Elgar and Delius to name but a few! Sixteen Wires also perform a set of their own arrangements of pop songs, for which they set aside music stands to perform with a healthy dose of fun! Highlights of the set include Song 2 by Blur, Hit the Road Jack by Ray Charles, Britney Spears’ Toxic and Perfect Day by Lou Reed. An important part of the service Sixteen Wires provide is their ability to accommodate special requests from clients. In the past the quartet have arranged pieces by Badly Drawn Boy and Sigur Ros, even the theme from Back to the Future! In fact, in 2009, Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon was a popular favourite at wedding ceremonies! Bespoke musical additions such as these add a memorable, personal touch and a unique edge to celebratory occasions.
